Duties include:
• Maintain orchard using machinery, fertilisers and chemicals.
• Prepare, establish and manage all areas of the property as directed.
• Spraying of chemicals as directed
• All aspects Machinery Operation
• Irrigation installation and maintenance
• Proactive and forward thinker
• Able to work in a team and independently.
• Daily task to be completed as directed by Supervisor.
• Driver's Licence essential.
• Interested in practical and mechanical work.
• Able to undertake manual work.
• Must be punctual, polite and reliable at all times.
• Able to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Possess a genuine interest and desire to learn on the job.
• Display sound oral and written communication skills.
• Possess a helpful and courteous manner at all times.
• Competent literacy and numeracy skills.
• Highly organised, with great attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Additional Requirements -
There will also be a Schooling component (as outlined below), which will need to be completed as part of
the traineeship. At the completion of the traineeship the successful candidate will graduate with a Certificate
Ill in Production Horticulture and would be an excellent candidate for an ongoing role on farm should one be
available at the conclusion of the 2 year traineeship. The ofi Orchard Apprenticeship/Traineeship Program
will be closely aligned with the SuniTAFE course curriculum enabling successful on the job learning. Please
note: the successful applicants will be placed on a three (3) month probation period.
